Solo Setup
Bluesy Bach & Friends – Opus 4 (Arioso Für Elise)
New Music – Arioso Für Elise! I have just released “Opus 4” in my series of “Bluesy Bach” recordings. With this recording I expanded the title from “Bluesy Bach” to “Bluesy Bach and Friends”. In this tune I combined elements from Beethoven’s “Für Elise” with Bach’s “Arioso”. My recording is titled Bluesy Bach and Friends – Opus 4 (Arioso Für Elise).
The Arioso a sinfonia from Bach’s Cantata BWV 156. In German is titled, “Ich steh mit einem Fuß im Grabe” (I am standing with one foot in the grave). BWV 156 is a cantata for church that Bach composed for the third Sunday after Epiphany and first performed it on January 23, 1729.
Beethoven’s Für Elise (Bagatelle No. 25 in A minor (WoO 59, Bia 515)) was not published during his lifetime. It was actually not discovered until about 40 years after Beethoven’s death. There has been much debate on exactly who “Elise” might have been. At any rate, it is a delightful melody and has been very popular for good reason.
My arrangement used electric guitar (Ibanez Artcore Expressionist semi-hollow body), Hammond organ, drums and percussion. The tracking was recorded with Logic Pro X digital audio workstation. Mastering was performed by SoundLAB. I would like to thank my friend Michael Powers for arranging and mixing assistance.

Per Roland’s product description:
This kit includes all parts for permanent installation of a GK-3 Divided Pickup into an electric guitar: a GK-3 Divided Pickup, circuit board, switches, power indicator LED, 13-pin connector, wiring and hardware. Professional installation is required.
- Divided guitar pickup for use with Roland V-Guitar System, GR-20 Guitar Synthesizer, or BOSS GK Effect Pedals
- 3-position switching between divided pickup, natural bass pickup, or mix of both
- Mounts on any electric or steel-stringed acoustic guitar
A Quick Intro to Christopher J.
I am Chris Hartzog and this is my website, Christopher J. Music. I live in the beautiful Pacific Northwest in the Seattle, Washington area.
I’ve loved music as long as I can remember. During many years of being a special needs parent to a very high needs child with autism, I started playing guitar again and started writing music. And through that experience I learned that music not only transcends languages, it also transcends disabilities.
Today my music covers a variety of styles and instruments from folk to blues/jazz, and classical to pop-rock. I am a multi-instrumentalist, playing guitar, bass (electric and upright), ukulele, keyboards, and a singer and songwriter. I also enjoy playing classical music on the double bass with my local community symphony orchestra. And, I write, arrange, record and produce songs and put them on this website for people to download and hopefully share and enjoy.
