The Sunflower Waltz
I published this the other day as “A Guitar Waltz”, but I decided to change the title to “The Sunflower Waltz”. I had such beautiful sunflowers growing in the garden this year and I hated to see summer end, I decided to rededicate this song to the Sunflower. So, here you go: Here is a little tune that I recorded today on my classical guitar to start your week off with. It is a waltz composed by Spanish guitarist, Dionisio Aguado y García from Opus 7. Don’t forget that you can subscribe to this as a podcast in iTunes. Just click on the iTunes link in the sidebar of the website.

A Food Love Song
I was inspired a while back by Seattle area musician, Eric “Two Scoops” Moore, who is well known for penning great tunes with a food or eating theme. For example his song, “Big Buffet” (“They got meat and potatoes, they got beans and rice, they got good country gravy make you go back twice … “). So I decided to take a stab at writing my own food inspired “hit”. Songs you write can tend to take on a life or direction of their own and my composition ended up to be a mixture of a food story and a fictional love story. (to my Christian friends out there, I am not advocating adultery and I am happily married, just for the record!) Let’s just say I have had a taste for hot sauce since I was a kid and I may have had a crush on a Mexican waitress when I was a teen…. More about this tune, as well as the title will be revealed in a future posting. 😉
The Missing Podcast
I obviously jumped the gun when iTunes first approved my podcast, because this initial podcast never appeared in my iTunes list of episodes or for some reason in my site’s RSS feed. Oh well. Anyway, here is a link to Podcast # 1 that I posted on August 5, 2013. Thanks for going back in time with me!

A Quick Intro to Christopher J.
I am Chris Hartzog and this is my website, Christopher J. Music. I live in the beautiful Pacific Northwest in the Seattle, Washington area.
I’ve loved music as long as I can remember. During many years of being a special needs parent to a very high needs child with autism, I started playing guitar again and started writing music. And through that experience I learned that music not only transcends languages, it also transcends disabilities.
Today my music covers a variety of styles and instruments from folk to blues/jazz, and classical to pop-rock. I am a multi-instrumentalist, playing guitar, bass (electric and upright), ukulele, keyboards, and a singer and songwriter. I also enjoy playing classical music on the double bass with my local community symphony orchestra. And, I write, arrange, record and produce songs and put them on this website for people to download and hopefully share and enjoy.
